Monitoring, Modeling and Management of Water Quality

In this special issue, we are able to present a selection of high-level contributions showing the manifold aspects monitoring, modeling, and management water quality. Monitoring range from cyanobacteria in using spectrophotometry via wide-area quality monitoring exploiting unmanned surface vehicles, sentinel-2 satellites for near-real-time evaluation catastrophic floods. Modeling ranges small scale approaches by deriving Bayesian network assessing retention efficacy riparian buffer zones, national scales with modification MONERIS (Modeling Nutrient Emissions River Systems) nutrient emission model lowland country. Management is specifically addressed lessons learned long-term large (re)constructed wetland support river basin planning Danube Basin.
